Icelandair Flights

About

Icelandair, Iceland's flag carrier, operates flights connecting Iceland with numerous destinations across Europe and North America. Established in 1937, the airline has its main hub at Keflavík International Airport, strategically leveraging Iceland's location for transatlantic travel. As of 2023, Icelandair serves 39 destinations with a fleet of 46 aircraft, offering reliable service to major metropolitan areas on both sides of the Atlantic.

The airline's frequent flyer program, Saga Club, rewards loyal customers with various benefits. Icelandair has codeshare agreements with several airlines, including Air Greenland, airBaltic, Alaska Airlines, and Turkish Airlines, enhancing connectivity for passengers. Additionally, Icelandair Cargo operates dedicated freight services, utilizing both the cargo space in passenger aircraft and specialized freighter planes to transport goods between Europe and North America.

Check-in

Icelandair makes checking in easy for both domestic and international flights. You can use their online check-in up to 36 hours before your flight from Canada and Europe. For flights to and from the USA, it's 24 hours in advance. This lets you get your boarding pass early and make your travel smoother.

But, online check-in isn't an option for flights from Belfast and Aberdeen. You'll need to check in at the airport for those. If you do use online check-in, Icelandair offers mobile boarding passes. These can be scanned by airport security for a quick boarding process.

At the airport, Icelandair has self-service kiosks at places like Edmonton, Montreal, Vancouver, Reykjavik, and Amsterdam. It's best to arrive 3.5 to 3 hours before your flight to check in easily. Remember, all check-ins must finish 1 hour before your flight leaves.

Choosing online check-in or going to the airport, Icelandair aims to make your start hassle-free. This way, you can enjoy your flight and destination without stress.
