About
Middle East Airlines - MEA is the national flag carrier of Lebanon, founded in 1945. Headquartered in the capital Beirut, Middle East Airlines' main operation center is Rafic Hariri International Airport. The airline operates scheduled and charter flights to more than thirty destinations in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
Middle East Airlines is a member of the Arab Air Transport Association. The airline officially joined the SkyTeam global alliance on 28 June 2012. The fleet consists of Airbus aircraft and it is planned to increase the number of aircraft due to new aircraft in the near future. The airline uses a very efficient loyalty program. Passengers can earn miles and redeem them for airline tickets, hotel and car rental reservations from companies such as Air France, KLM and Qatar Airways.

Baggage Allowance
Hand luggage
The airline allows each passenger to carry one piece of baggage as hand luggage on all flights, provided that the sum of the three dimensions of the goods does not exceed 115 cm and the weight of the goods does not exceed 10 kg.
Checked Baggage
Baggage allowance depends on the ticket class and the destination of the flight. Baggage allowance is listed below:
Flights between Beirut and Africa or Amman
- Economy class - 30 kg
- Business class - 60 kg
Flights between Beirut and Cairo, Istanbul, Larnaca, Yerevan or the Middle East (excluding Jordan)
- Economy class - 2x23 kg
- Business class - 2x30 kg
Flights between Beirut and Europe
- Economy class - 23 kg
- Business class - 2x30 kg
*The size of any baggage should not exceed 158 cm.
Special Luggage
Passengers can carry sports equipment such as golf bag, diving, bicycle, surfing and ski equipment free of charge if they weigh less than 23 kg. If you want to buy any extra sports equipment under 23 kg, you will have to pay $200 per piece or local equivalent.
Musical instruments such as small flutes or violins can be carried as part of your cabin baggage allowance. If larger musical instruments such as bass or cello do not fit in the overhead compartment or exceed the allowable standard cabin baggage size or weight, you must purchase an additional seat to travel in the cabin. For musical instruments that are too large to be carried in the cabin, reservation arrangements must be made prior to the flight.

Loyalty Program
Middle East Airlines frequent flyer program is the “Cedar Miles” program. Travelers can earn miles from every flight they make with the airline. Afterwards, they can use these miles by purchasing a free flight ticket.
The program is divided into three levels. Each of these levels provides access to various privileges, such as priority addition of luggage, priority on the waiting list, or the possibility of traveling with more luggage.
Food & Beverage
Middle East Airlines' meals are selected from Lebanese and European dishes. Freshly prepared food is made. The meals offered in the cabin may change depending on the routes and travel time.
Cold snacks are available on short flights. Brunch is served on morning flights. Fresh juices, croissants and Knafeh, a Lebanese specialty, are the main breakfast items.
The airline offers European hors d'oeuvres, a selection of main courses and a selection of desserts and salads for lunch and dinner on flights to Europe and Africa.
On the Gulf routes, lunch and dinner, rich Lebanese hors d'oeuvres, fresh salad, hot main course options and fruit tarts are served.

Pet Policy
Your pet can travel in the cabin of the plane if they are caged and odorless. The maximum weight of pets and cage should not exceed 10 kg and the size should not exceed 56 cm x 40 cm x 25 cm.
The airline company carries your pet for a fee. Fees vary according to the destination and the weight of the pet. A baggage fee of $25-75 is charged for pets under 3kg, and $55-$150 for larger animals.
Animals weighing more than 10 kg, including the transport cage, cannot be transported in the cabin. They must be carried as excess baggage in the cargo hold.
Lounge Usage
Middle East Airline saves you from sitting uncomfortably at the door by accessing the lounge. Before boarding your plane, you'll spend your time getting comfortable seats and a delicious snack.
Cedar Lounge is in service in Beirut, the airline's main hub. It offers shower, wi-fi, television, playgrounds, cafeteria, bar and much more. You can also use Skyteam lounges outside of Lebanon.
